安全,安心な社会生活を実現する基盤技術の一つとして近年注目を集めている無線アドホックネットワークは,ルータ,スイッチ,ケーブルといった固定設備を必要としないことから,ビル内や街路をはじめ,歴史的建造物や災害発生地域などへの設置も容易であり,VoIP(Voice over IP)や遠隔監視などに用いられる.これらのアプリケーションでは,通信のリアルタイム性が重要となるため,通信容量の限られる無線ネットワークでアプリケーションの要求する通信品質を提供するためのQoS(Quality of Service)制御手法が必要となる.

本研究では,IRDT方式における間欠周期を動的に変化させることで,消費電力を抑制することを目指した.シミュレーションによって送信端末始動型の方式であるLPL (Low Power Lis-tening)方式との比較を行った結果,データ発生頻度の低い環境において高いパケット収集率を実現する条件の下では,本方式の消費電力がLPL 方式の25%まで削減可能であることが示された.さらに,IRDT 方式における制御パケットの衝突を防ぐために,衝突確率を最小化する間欠周期の解析的な導出及びデータアグリゲーションを導入した.その結果,間欠周期を固定的に割り当てる場合と比較して,99%以上のパケット収集率を得られ,最大90%以上の消費電力削減が可能となった.
